MARTHAM FUN CARNIVAL 2008

The Martham Carnival was once again a tremendous success with over 3,000 people visiting Martham during the week-end activities.   Many Community Groups, Charities and Commercial Companies had stalls on the village green and all were thankful that the weather was kind this year.    The Mayor and Mayoress of Great Yarmouth, together with the Carnival Prince and Princess, led the Carnival Procession on Sunday, in a horse drawn carriage, followed by many floats and walkers, including the 501 troop, First Response, The lst Martham Brownies, The Scouts, Flegg High School and many more.  The Community Groups and Charities raised between them, some £3,000 to £4,000 and the Carnival Committee raised around £1,300 which was donated to various local community groups and organisations.  Monkey Spanner played on the green on Saturday evening and drew a very large crowd of spectators, all enjoying the free entertainment.
